International News Round up.

Wow, what a bad week to go on an international work conference, so much has happend in and around the club,  from the potential transfer of our captain, to new training kits, to pre-season games and even a story today about a potential new ownership group. All of that to come in following posts however, as this post is dedicated to the Young Socceroos at the U/20 wc, and the upcoming socceroos friendly vs Wales tommrow.

Kofi Danning and Matt Acton represneted Australia at the Fifa U/20 world cup currently being held in Colombia. Jan Versleijen’s men unfortunatly went out in the group phase with a 1-1 draw with Ecuador, a 3-2 loss to Costa Rica and a 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Spain. Kofi Danning started all 3 games for the young socceroos, however unfortunatly Matt Acton didnt get any game time with Adelaide #2 Mark Birighitti getting the games time in goals. In addition to those 2, former Roar startlet Tommy Oar was a star of the tournament for Australia scoring a fantastic free kick.

Also in National Team news, Brisbane captain (for now atleast) Matt McKay  has been called up to the Socceroos squad for this weekes international friendly vs Wales. McKay, is joined by former Roar players Robbie Kruse, Luke Devere, Michael Zullo and late call- up Adam Sarota.
