Former Roar players overseas update: 03/09/13

Transfer movement:
Michael Zullo has returned to the A-League for the upcoming season, signing a 1 yeer loan deal with Adelaide United. In addition to that foundation player Michael Baird has returned to Europe- signing for Romanian club FC Universitatea Craiova- the club he made 67 appearances -13 goals- for from 2006-2009. Baird had been playing for BPL side Peninsula Power in the 2013 local league season.

Europe:
Netherlands:
Eredivise:
Tommy Oar and Adam Sarota (FC Utrecht) AND Stef Nijland (PEC Zwolle)

FC Utrech 15th in Eredivise (After 5 Rounds)

Tommy Oar started and played the full 90 minutes for Utrecht, while Sarota is still out injured. Meanwhile Stef Nijland came on after an hour and scored his first goal for PEC- scoring the equalising goal after 74mins.

Next week Zwolle travel to Ajax Amsterdam, while Utrecht host RKC Waalwijk.

Germany:
Robbie Kruse (Bayer Leverkusen)

3rd in German Bundesliga (After 4 Rounds)
Robbie came off the bench with 20 minutes remaining. They’ll host Wolfsburg next week.

Meanwhile- Robbie will soon become the first former Roar player to play in the UEFA Champions League as Bayer Leverkusen were drawn in Group A alongside Manchester United, Shakhtar Donesk and Real Sociedad. They’ll start their campaign at Old Trafford on the 18th of September.

14th in 2.Bundesliga- (After 6 Rounds)
Ben was on the bench this weekend, however he didnt get on the park. They’ll host Dynamo Dressden next week.

Switzerland:
Dario Vidosic (FC Sion)

9th in Swiss Super League (After 7 Rounds)
Dario made a winning debut for his new club, playing the full 90 minutes before being subbed off late in stoppage time. They’re on the road again next week to Wohlen.

Croatia:
Steven Lustica (Hajduk Split)

Osjek 1-0 Hajudk Split
2nd in HNL (After 8 Rounds)
Steven wasn’t involved in the squad for either game. They’ll host fierce rivals and league leaders Dinamo Zagreb next Sunday. Zagreb go into the clash 4pts clear.

Dong came on after 81′ minutes- they travel to Thespakusatsu Gunma next week.

14th in Chinese Super League-(After 22 matches)
Erik started, played the full 90 minutes and scored the games only goal after 16 minutes giving league leading Guangzhou their first defeat of the season. Tianjin continue their fight to avoid relegation next week away to Jiangju Sainty.

Korean Republic:

11th in K-League (After 26 rounds)
Luke started the game away to Chunnam and played the full 90 minutes midweek, however he was back to being an unused sub at the weekend against Seongnam.

4th in Thai Premier League (After 25 Rounds)
Rocky was an unused sub.They travel to Sisaket next week.

Indonesia:

Sergio started, and played the full 90 mins, scoring in the 69th minute.

Milan Susak could make his competivie debut in the season opening game away to
Al Shabab on Wednesday.

Alex Brosque (Al Ain)
The UAE Pro League kicks off this week with defending Champions Al Ain taking on Bani Yas. At the weekend they lost the Super Cup on a penalty shootout to Al Ahli. Alex wasnt in the squad.

Sasa begins his campaign on the 14th as Umm Salal host Al Muáidar.

The Qatari Stars League re-starts on the 15th with Al Arabi hosting El Jaish.
