National Youth League Draw unveiledPosted: September 10, 2013
FFA have late this afternoon unveiled the draw for the upcoming 2013-14 National Youth League season. Brisbane Roar youth this season will be coached by former W-League head coach, and A-League assistant Jeff Hopkins, with former coach John Sime taking on a chief scouting role of some sort to find the best talent across the state.
The squad is currently taking shape with fringe first teamers Lachlan Jackson, Ben Liftin, Brandon Borrello, Kwame Yeboah and Patrick Theodore all likely to be apart of the squad. If experience is anything to go by, don’t expect the final squad to be announced until late October- Brisbane have a habit of releasing it at the last minute.
As you can see all home games will be played at Goodwin Park on Brisbane’s southside for a second straight season, with a mixture of kickoff times. They’ll start with two home games and end with two away games. There are no finals in the NYL, with just a traditional league format in place.
Football is quickly returning, with just over a month until the start of the A-League, and the women’s and youth competitions wont be far behind.
