Wilson announces 2013-14 W-League SquadPosted: September 24, 2013
Brisbane W-League coach Belinda Wilson has today confirmed her squad for the upcoming 2013-14 season. The squad consists of many of last seasons premiership winners with Clare Polkinghorne, Elise Kellond-Knight, Tameka Butt, Amy Chapman and Emily Gielnik all returning.
In addition, Brisbane have added one of women’s football’s biggest names with German goalkeeper Nadine Angerer a strong addition to the squad. Angerer has won some of the women’s games highest honours including recently becoming the inaugural winner of the UEFA Women’s Payer of the year award.
In addition to Angerer, Brisbane also welcome back stalwarts and Matildas regulars Kim Carroll and Jo Burgess to the squad. Last season’s leadership group will remain the same with Clare Polkinghorne retaining the captains armband, with Elise Kellond-Knight her understudy.

“It shows that Queensland has a strong history of developing our own youngsters and the proof is in the talent within this Brisbane Roar W-League squad.
“We have also made sure we have the right players to implement the characteristic Brisbane Roar style of play – attacking, fast-paced football.”
Brisbane kick-start their 2013-14 season on November 9th with a home game against Canberra United at AJ Kelly Field. The full draw is below, best of luck to the girls for the upcoming season.
