Brisbane Roar striker Besart Berisha will miss Friday nights game against Melbourne Victory with a hamstring tear. The Albanian striker went for scans today after being substituted after just 25 minutes of the 4-0 win over Sydney FC. It’s expected that Berisha will be fit for the Round 4 clash against Melbourne Heart at Suncorp Stadium.

Berisha has been an absolutely vital cog in his time with Brisbane, scoring an impressive 37 goals from 59 games since his arrival from Armenia Bielefeld in 2011. Further to that, Brisbane have a poor record when they’re without the striker, losing two of three games without him, including the 4-1 thrashing by Heart early last season. We’ll have more later in the week about how Brisbane might go about replacing Berisha for this weekend.

Brisbane Roar without Besart Berisha (2011-Current)

Round 19 2011-12: Brisbane Roar 0-1 Newcastle Jets
Round 6 2011-12: Melbourne Heart 4-1 Brisbane Roar
Round 18 2011-12: Perth Glory 0-1 Brisbane Roar
