Report: Miller, Berisha both set to miss Heart clashPosted: October 26, 2013
Via Marco: Brisbane Roar could be without their new Irish import Liam Miller for next weekendsclash against Melbourne Heart with a calf strain. He’ll undergo scans on Monday to assess the damage however club physio Tim Oostenbroek thinks that the midfielder could be out for a month. Oostenbroek said that Miller felt a ‘ping in his calf’, before being substituted just after an hour of last night’s loss to Melbourne. “Liam’s a little bit more of a problem, “I’d expect that it would probably keep him sidelined for a month.”
In further injury news, Luke Brattan figures to be available for selection next Sunday after it was confirmed that he received a knock on his tibia. Oostenbroek said that Brattan should be back training within a few days and with a 10 days between games he should be fine for Sunday. He did however pour cold water on the prospects of Besart Berisha returning to the side for the game saying, “He won’t be available, we need to make sure that when Bes comes back he’s in the best possible shape.”
Going into the season the question regarding Brisbane was around the depth around the first team squad, and were getting an early glimpse into that depth. Petratos, Ferreira, Yeboah and Brown all seem likely to get regular first team appearances over the next few weeks, hopefully they take their opportunities.
