Season 6 of the W-League kicks off tomorrow afternoon at AJ Kelly Field in Redcliffe as Brisbane take on their arch rivals Canberra United in their season opening game. There’s been a fair bit of hype around the women’s side in the off-season with the vast majority of last seasons premiership winning team returning, in addition to the arrival of German goalkeeper and one of Europe’s best female footballers in goalkeeper Nadine Angerer. The news that the women will get to make their debut’s at Suncorp later in the season will no doubt provide a boost in their quest to repeat their regular season premiership winning form, and go at least one step further and get back to the Grand Final this year under 2nd year coach Belinda Wilson.
