International:
Australia:

The Socceroos take on Costa Rica tomorrow night in former Brisbane boss Ange Postecoglou’s 1st game in charge of the national team. Current stars Matt McKay and Ivan Franjic join former players Michael Zullo, Tommy Oar, Robbie Kruse and Dario Vidosic in the squad.

New Zealand:
Mexico 5-1 New Zealand
2014 World Cup Intercontinental Playoff Leg. 1
Kosta started and played the full 90 minutes in what was a disappointing day for the New Zealanders.

The second leg is on Wednesday night, and the All Whites need an unlikely 4-0 win to book a spot in Brazil 2014- best of luck to our friends across the Tasman.

Canada:

International Friendly
Issey started on the bench and came on with a quarter hour remaining and will be hoping to catch the eye of club scouts given he’s currently without a squad.

They have another game against Slovenia on Wednesday.

Ben Halloran (Fortuna Düsseldorf)
9th in German 2.Bundesliga (After 14 rounds)
With an international break Fortuna took on Bochum in a friendly match, and Halloran took the opportunity to impress scoring both goals in a 2-1 victory before being substitutes after 78 minutes.

Romania:
Michael Baird (FC Universitatea Craiova)
Universitatea Craiova 1-1 Olympia Satu Mare
5th in Romanian Liga II table (After 12 rounds).
Not sure if Baird featured.

Asia:
Japan:
Yuji Takahashi (Kyoto Sanga)

Mito Hollyhock 2-1 Kyoto Sanga
3rd in J.2 League (After 41 rounds)
No Takahashi in the squad this week. With one round remaining Kyoto are guaranteed to finish the season 3rd on the table, and will be the top seed in the 4 team promotion playoff.

Do Dong-Hyun (FC Gifu)
FC Gifu 0-3 Consadole Sapporo.
21st in J.2 League (After 41 rounds)
Dong- Hyun wasn’t in the squad. With one round to play Gifu are going to finish in 19th position, meaning they will face a playoff to remain in the J.2 league.

Korean Republic:
Luke DeVere (Gyeongnam)
Gyeongnam 1-2 Gangwon
4th in K-League Relegation Group
Luke was an unused sub. With 3 games remaining Gyeongnam are now tied with Gangwon (ahead on goal difference) and have work to do to remain in the K-League.

United Arab Emirates:
Milan Susak (Al Wasl)

5th in UAE League Cup Group B after 5 games
Milan started, picked up a caution in the 11th minute before being substituted after half an hour. Possibly an injury, not sure.

Alex Brosque (Al Ain)
Al Ain 1-0 Dubai
3rd in UAE League Cup Group A after 6 games
Alex started and played the full 90 minutes.

Qatar:
Sasa Ognenovski (Umm Salal)

Al Sailiya 3-6 Umm Salal
1st in Qatari Stars Cup Group C after 2 games.
Sasa came on at half time.

Sayed Mohamed Adnan (Al Arabi)
Al Arabi 0-2 Al Rayyan
4th in Qatari Stars Cup Group A after 3 games
Adnan started and played the full 90 minutes.

North America:

9th in Costa Rican Primera (After 21 games)
Not sure if Solórzano was involved.

Michael Zullo, Steven Lustica and Daniel Bowles (Adelaide United)

Lustica played a full game for the Reds. Bowles is out injured. Zullo is in Socceroos camp.

Tando Velaphi, Andrew Redmayne, David Williams, Massimo Murdocca and Ross Archibald (Melbourne Heart)
Melbourne Heart 0-2 Sydney FC
10th in A-League (After 6 Rounds)
Redmayne, Murdocca and Williams all started for Heart and all played a full game. Williams picked up an 89th minute caution. Tando remained on the bench. Meanwhile Archibald played a full game for the Heart youth side in the 1-1 draw with AIS.

Mitch Nichols, Jason Geria, Kosta Barbarouses and Anthony Proia (Melbourne Victory)
Sydney FC 3-2 Melbourne Victory
3rd in A-League (After 5 Rounds)
Geria and Nichols started for the Victory, with Nichols playing 78 minutes and Geria 87’. Barbarouses is with the NZ national team, while Proia wasn’t involved in either the A-League or NYL this week.

Isaka Cernak (Perth Glory)
Perth Glory 1-1 Adelaide United
4th in A-League (After 5 Rounds)
Cernak wasn’t in the squad in the A-League, he did however play 90 minutes in Perth’s 6-1 loss to Newcastle in the Youth League.

Vedran Janjetovic and Matthew Jurman (Sydney FC)
Melbourne Heart 0-2 Sydney FC
5th in A-League (After 6 Rounds)
Janjetovic played a full game in goals, while Jurman came on with 25 minutes remaining.

Tahj Minniecon (Western Sydney Wanderers)
Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 Melbourne Victory
1st in A-League (After 6 Rounds)
Tahj came off the bench with 10 minutes remaining in the win that sent the Wanderers top of the league.
