Newcastle continue strong record in Brisbane

Apologies for not posting this sooner, but I’ve been a bit under the weather. Given most have moved on from this, I’ll put this in dot point.

Brisbane Roar (0)
Newcastle Jets (2) O.G (Donachie 34’), Gibbs 86’

– Across the board, I thought that Brisbane were just slightly off their game on the night. They still played some decent stuff, but there was little cutting edge in their play.

– Liam Miller continues to struggle to fit into the system and he had another quiet game. He had Brisbane’s best chance early on, but otherwise looked ineffectual and was subbed early in the second half

– Changes wise- I suspect that Henrique and North will return to the starting line-up, with Donachie and Miller making way for the duo.

– Newcastle sat back and played on the counter using their and cut out a large majority of Brisbane’s crosses –particularly down the left hand side-.

– The pitch was poor, but we all expected that going in. It was patchy, but both sides had to play on it and Newcastle were the better side. Hopefully, the field has fully recovered by the next home game (Jan 11).
