The game itself was a pretty flat one in all honesty with very few chances on goals, with the best chances falling to the visitors. Brisbane’s best chance fell to Borrello in the first half however his shot was straight at the keeper. AIS were in truth the better team, and their goals were nicely worked. The first of which was a through ball which the attacker got on the end of before beating Chalmers, while the second came from some nice passing in and around the box.
As I mentioned there isn’t really a lot to talk about out of this one, with Corey Brown the only first team player to play a part. He played the full 90 minutes on his return from the u/22 Asian Championships and should be in contention for next Sunday’s visit of the Mariners. As for the rest, Borrello looked lively at times, Litfin played well in the midfield, while last night’s debutant Jai Ingham didn’t have the greatest game and perhaps took the wrong option at times.
Next weekend Brisbane are at home to Central Coast, in what is their final home game of the 2013-14 NYL season. They conclude the season with trips to Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle. Kick-off next Saturday is set for 2.30pm at Goodwin Park, Yeronga.
