Former Players wrap: 11/02/2015Posted: February 11, 2015
After a break for the Asian Cup and the European Winter break, were back for the second half of the European season, and the start of the new season across East Asia.
One piece of news this week, with the standout graduate from the Roar system in Europe, Tommy Oar, signalling his intention to leave FC Utrecht at the end of the season.
The 23 year old, who signed a 5 year deal in May 2010, is out of contract at the end of the season and wants to move on. In the past he’s been linked with Ajax, PSV and Benfica, so it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
“Ideally, Utrecht can earn something from my sale, but now we’re heading towards the summer and I have to think of my career. It is unlikely that I’ll play for Utrecht next year.
My first goal was to complete a transfer after the World Cup in Brazil. When that failed, I shifted my desire to move during the winter transfer window. But that it did not work out so it is now the next period, next summer.”
