Despite the swirling speculation surrounding the clubs finances, earlier this week Brisbane announced the appointment of Craig Moore as the clubs new Football Operations Manager.

While details on what the role requires are scarce, it’s thought that this is somewhat of a replacement for Ken Stead, with Moore set to work hand in hand alongside Aloisi in shaping the Football department.

Moore has a history here with the Roar, making 64 appearances here in Brisbane from 2007-2010 as the clubs captain and marquee player. He left however in acrimonious circumstances after Frank Farina was replaced by Ange Postecoglou, with Moore departing to Kavala in Greece on a short-term deal, with the 2010 World Cup in the forefront of his thinking.

Since retiring Moore has been working with the FFA as an elite player mentor and has written semi-regular columns in the papers about the Roar.

Im sceptical about the impact Moore will have here in Brisbane, there’s a bit of a ‘jobs for the boys’ look to it, but time will tell. There’s a lot of work to be done no doubt in recruitment and organising the pre-season schedule.
