2016-17 W-League draw unveiled

The draw for the 2016-17 W-League season was released today and Brisbane Roar will play two games at Suncorp Stadium as part of A-League/W-League double headers.

The Roar Womens side will play Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium on Sunday December 11th before the two sides meet in the A-League later that afternoon, and Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday January 7th before Brisbane’s A-League clash with Newcastle.

The teams other four home fixtures will be played at the centrally located Dunmore Park, home of Toowong FC.

The headline for the league as a whole is the 19 A-League/W-League double headers across the league, with the season getting underway on November 5th and ending with the Grand Final on February 12th.

Fox Sports and ABC will once again share the TV rights this season, with Brisbane set to feature three times on the televised game across the 14 round competition.

The Roar’s home game against Adelaide in Round 7 at Suncorp Stadium set as the TV game, in addition to the away fixtures against Canberra –Round 8- and Newcastle –Round 12-.

In addition to 14 regular season fixtures, Fox Sports and ABC will also show both Semi-Finals and the Grand Final.

Last season saw a resurgence of sorts for the Roar, with Belinda Wilson’s side returning to the Finals series before losing on penalties to eventual Champions Melbourne City.
