Roar announce new W-League coachPosted: September 20, 2016
Brisbane Roar have announced that Mel Andreatta will lead the clubs W-League side in season nine of the competition.
Andreatta, who previously acted as coach of the NTC squad and assistant to former Manger Belinda Wilson, takes over after it was announced two weeks ago that Wilson was moving aside from the role after four years in the job.
Andreatta becomes just the third coach in the W-League for the Roar, following in the footsteps of foundation Manager Jeff Hopkins and Wilson.
Wilson departs the role with 24 wins from 52 games over the previous four seasons and lead the Roar to a Premiership and a Grand Final defeat before rebuilding the side to a finals appearance last season.
Last season saw a return to the finals for the W-League side as they pushed eventual Champions Melbourne City all the way to penalties before narrowly losing despite a strong showing.
Details of the squad are likely to arrive in future weeks as Andreatta now begins to finalise the details of the squad ahead of the start of the new season.
The new season for the Brisbane W-League side begins on Saturday November 5 with a home clash against Sydney FC.
