Brisbane Roar have made it three wins out of three this weekend against Adelaide United, running out 4-0 winners in today’s clash which concluded round 10 of the A-League.

A brace from Thomas Kristensen gave Brisbane a 2-0 half time lead, before a Thomas Broich header and a penalty from Jamie Maclaren rounded out the scoring.

After an even opening to the match in which neither side were able to create clear goal scoring opportunities, it was Thomas Kristensen whose diving header from a Tommy Oar cross opened the scoring just shy of the half hour mark .

The two combined again moments later as a flowing counter attacking move was tucked away by the midfielder after a good cross from Oar found him at the near post.

There were suspicions of offside in the build up with Adelaide defenders believing that Tommy Oar was offside, although replays showed that the Brisbane winger was level with the last man.

Things went from bad to worse for Adelaide early in the second half when Tommy Oar got his second assist of the afternoon, with his free kick headed home by Thomas Broich who registered his first goal of the new season.

James Holland perhaps had the best chance for Adelaide to get a goal back, but his effort could only find the crossbar.

As the game was winding down Brisbane were gifted the chance of a fourth goal after Petratos’ shot hit the hand of former Brisbane flyer Henrique.

Jamie Maclaren the stepped up to dispatch the spot kick, sending the ball into the roof of giving Eugene Galekovic no chance.

A big talking point ahead of the game was the playing surface at Suncorp Stadium with the grass noticeably patchy at the northern end of the ground,  and although in truth it played well it’s not a good look for the league.

As mentioned at the start this makes it three wins from three this weekend for Brisbane Roar over Adelaide United, with both the National Youth League and W-League sides picking up 3-2 wins.

Both games were eerily similar with Brisbane running out to 3-0 leads before the visitors clawed their way back into the game.

In the NYL it was a Nick  D’Agostino brace in addition to a third from Joey Katebian in which secured the points, while in the W-League the goals came from Katrina Gorry, Tameka Butt and Allira Toby.

The results are important for both the Roar sitting 2nd in the Conference A NYL standings behind Melbourne City, while in the W-League they sit just two points from the top of the league.
